Arch Literary Journal
The Editors of Arch are very pleased to announce the release of our second issue. In it we feature interviews with fiction writer Joyce Carol Oates and poet Michael Palmer, a contemporary Russian novella translated in its entirety, and much more.
While there is a lot of great work to read as-is, we'll soon post more to this issue—poems by emerging writer Derek Mong and three book reviews, effectively launching a reviews section in Arch.
And the future of Arch continues to be bright. In the coming year we plan to overhaul our site's façade and navigability, and we have commitments for work from some of today's most exciting new and prominent writers.
Please take the time to look over our offerings. We hope you enjoy.
Arch, v: to span, bridge. Arch Literary Journal, n: an online collection of writings that spans genres, styles, and fields; a journal that creates bridges across aesthetics, languages, and attitudes.
We seek to publish new writing that transforms the way we envision, startles us into new ways of knowing, subverts expectations, and delivers new experiences of language. We embrace multiplicity: we look to mirror and extend the diverse nature of today's most exciting literature both in the U.S. and around the world.
Arch Literary Journal is housed within the College of Arts and Sciences and is affiliated with the English Department at Washington University in St. Louis; it is generously supported by Washington University's Hurst Endowment. We publish interviews, translations, poetry, fiction, and essays. Queries should be directed to the appropriate editor by using our contact form.
